Dr. Amer bin Awadh Al-Rawas

Chief Executive Officer

Dr. Rawas is the Chief Executive Officer of Oman Telecommunications Company (Omantel). Prior to his current post, he served as the Managing Director – Oman Mobile.

Dr. Rawas holds a PhD in Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence from the Sussex University, UK, 1997. In the academic field prior to his joining the Telecom Sector, Dr. Rawas served in various academic and leadership positions at the Sultan Qaboos University (SQU). His last assignment was the Dean of Educational Services.

Mr. Talal Said Marhoon Al Mamari

Vice President Finance

Talal Said Al Mamari is the Vice President of Finance unit. His industry experience extends to leading the finance function in the organizations for the past 5 years and Board memberships in a number of companies in the telecom & ICT domains. He holds a degree in Business Administration from Duquesne University, Pittsburgh – Pennsylvania.

Mr. Samy Ahmed Al Ghassany

Vice President Integrated Network and Technology

Samy Ahmed Al Ghassany is the Vice President of Integrated Network and Technology unit. He has been working for Omantel and Oman Mobile for the past 17 years. He has Management experience in telecommunications networks and information technology. He Holds a Master’s degree in Computer Information Systems from the University of Detroit Mercy, U.S.A.

Mr. Adil Ismail Al Raisi

Vice President Corporate

Adil Ismail Al Raisi is the Vice President of Corporate Business Unit and the Deputy Chairman of Infoline LLC. He has extensive telecom and airline experience in the areas of customer service, marketing, retail channels management, and corporate sales. He holds a bachelor degree in management from United States.

Mr. Rao K. Chagarlamudi

Vice President Consumer

Rao Chagarlamudi is the Vice President of Consumer Business Unit. He holds P&L accountability for his Unit and is responsible for the marketing, sales, customer service and distribution channel functions associated with the fixed and mobile services provided to individuals. Prior to his current assignment Rao held a variety of senior management positions at Omantel, the Saudi regulatory authority and Bell Canada during his 30 year telecommunications career. Rao holds an M.A. in Economics from the University of Ottawa in Canada.

Mr. Lars O Gustafsson

Vice President Business Development

Lars O Gustafsson is the Vice President of Business Development Unit. He has 25 years of experience from the telecom industry. Recent positions include Vice President Business Development at Telia and Principal at Cap Gemini. He holds a degree in Business Administration from Stockholm School of Economics.

Mr. Thorleif Herrstrom

Vice President Wholesale

Thorleif Herrstrom is the Vice President of Wholesale Business Unit. Thorleif has 30 years of experience in the telecom industry. Thorleif has worked as a senior consultant or in executive level in 38 countries in the world, focusing on regulatory and wholesale areas. Advising the Ministry of communication and the regulator of Angola, the main challenging operator in Europe and Russia, Tele2 and the Number enquiry companies of Sweden. Thorleif holds a Bachelor of Arts in mathematics and economics from the Stockholm University.

Dr. Ghalib Saif Al Hosni

Vice President Human Resources

Dr. Ghalib Saif Al Hosni is the care taker of Vice President Human Resources Unit. He has joined Omantel in 1991. Dr. Ghalib holds Doctorate of Management from Webster University, Missouri United States.
